WELCOME TO TANZANIA 🇹🇿!!!

WELCOME TO TANZANIA 🇹🇿!!!

We finally made it to Tanzania! Our church family at North Ridge Bible Chapel gave us a very special send off on our last Sunday, filled with many memories that will stay with us for a long time. This first blog post is long overdue, but between the many adjustments to a new culture and 8 hour time difference in the first week and now that we are at the Language school and the WiFi is not very accessible - I finally decided to make a post from my phone!
So here goes a summary of our journey so far!

Our last Sunday was such a sweet day to us, we are so blessed to have such a sweet church family! The next day at the airport many came out to see us off. It was a busy morning and somehow we got everyone and everything on the plane!

Ready to go to the airport!

At the airport!

After 26 hours of travel we made it to Dar Es Salaam,Tanzania 🇹🇿. We were picked up by the Davies and made it out of the airport with no problems - PTL! We stayed in Dar Es Salaam for 4 days before taking the bus to Morogoro on Saturday morning. While in Dar we were able to take care of some things with immigration and also get acclimated to the heat with no AC! We left many comforts behind and the big one was AC :) we will eventually get adjusted to the heat. We thank the Lord for how well the kids have adjusted to all the changes!

The little house we stayed in while in Dar

We packed up Friday night and Steve Davies took us to the bus station at 5am on Saturday morning for the 4 hour trip to Morogoro. The place was full of buses and people - it was like being in the subway in NY at rush hour, but add to that the fact that we could not understand the language, and all of our life belongings being whisked away by people we didn’t know. It was an experience! I wish i had taken pictures, but too much was happening at once. Miracles happened on that bus ride regarding our children - the Lord knows all He did for us on that trip! We made it to the school and were dropped off by the road... literally!

The boys and I stayed with the bags while the girls went for help to move our bags to where we were staying.

Africa style - hauled our bags into the school with a piki-piki (Motorcycle)

So the Lord took care of us and got us here together and in one piece!
One of the workers came to the road to greet us and I will never forget her words,
“You are safe here.”
That was what we needed to hear :)
Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help!
